CONCURRENT RESOLUTION relating to the adjournment of the
10 senate and house of
representatives for periods during the 1999 regular
11 session of the
legislature.

13 Be it resolved by
the Senate of the State of Kansas, the House of Rep-
14 resentatives concurring
therein: That the legislature shall adjourn at the
15 close of business of the daily session
convened on April 2, 1999, and shall
16 reconvene on April 7, 1999, pursuant to
adjournment of the daily session
17 convened on April 2, 1999; and
18 Be it further
resolved: That the legislature shall adjourn at the
close
19 of business of the daily session convened
on April 9, 1999, or at the close
20 of business of the daily session convened
on April 10, 1999, and shall
21 reconvene at 10:00 a.m. on April 28, 1999;
and
22 Be it further
resolved: That the chief clerk of the house of
represen-
23 tatives and the secretary of the senate and
employees specified by the
24 director of legislative administrative
services for such purpose shall attend
25 their duties each day during periods of
adjournment, Sundays excepted,
26 for the purpose of receiving messages from
the governor and conducting
27 such other business as may be required;
and
28 Be it further
resolved: That members of the legislature shall not
re-
29 ceive the per diem compensation and
subsistence allowances provided
30 for in subsections (a) and (b) of K.S.A.
1998 Supp. 46-137a for any day
31 within a period in which both houses of the
legislature are adjourned for
32 more than two days, Sundays excepted;
and
33 Be it further
resolved: That members of the legislature attending a
34 legislative meeting of whatever nature when
authorized pursuant to law,
35 or by the president of the senate or the
speaker of the house of repre-
36 sentatives and members of a conference
committee attending a meeting
37 of the conference committee authorized by
the president of the senate
38 and the speaker of the house of
representatives during any period of
39 adjournment for which members are not
authorized compensation and
40 allowances pursuant to K.S.A. 1998 Supp.
46-137a shall receive compen-
41 sation and travel expenses or allowances as
provided by K.S.A. 75-3212
42 except that the mileage allowance shall be
limited during any such period

1 of adjournment to one full trip by
the usual route in going to and returning
2 from an authorized meeting.
