  9             AN  ACT concerning legislative compensation; amending K.S.A. 46-137e
10             and repealing the existing section.

12       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
13             Section  1. K.S.A. 46-137e is hereby amended to read as follows: 46-
14       137e. (a) The officers specified in K.S.A. 46-137b, and amendments
15       thereto shall, in addition to all other compensation and expense allow-
16       ances authorized by law, shall receive compensation at the rate specified
17       in clause subsection (a) of K.S.A. 75-3212, and amendments thereto, for
18       each day in the performance of legislative duties in their respective offices
19       in their home district. Such officers also shall receive compensation at the
20       rate specified in subsection (a) of K.S.A. 75-3212, and amendments
21       thereto, subsistence allowances at the rates specified in clauses subsec-
22       tions (b) and (c) of K.S.A. 75-3212, and amendments thereto, and the
23       mileage allowance specified in subsection (d) of K.S.A. 75-3212, and
24       amendments thereto, for each day (or part thereof) in the performance
25       of the legislative duties of in their respective offices in Topeka and in
26       addition thereto the mileage allowance specified in clause (d) of said
27       K.S.A. 75-3212. Reimbursement provided under this subsection shall not
28       exceed five days in any one week.
29             (b) When authorized by the legislative coordinating council to attend
30       to any legislative business in Topeka when the legislature is not in session,
31       members of the legislature not specified in subsection (a) of this section
32       shall, in addition to all other compensation and expenses authorized by
33       law, receive compensation, subsistence and mileage allowances in the
34       amounts specified in K.S.A. 75-3212. When the legislature is not in ses-
35       sion, members of the legislature not specified in subsection (a), in addition
36       to all other compensation and expenses authorized by law, shall receive
37       compensation at the rate specified in subsection (a) of K.S.A. 75-3212,
38       and amendments thereto, for each day in the performance of legislative
39       duties in their respective offices in their home district. Such members also
40       shall receive compensation at the rate specified in subsection (a) of K.S.A.
41       75-3212, and amendments thereto, subsistence allowances at the rate
42       specified in subsections (b) and (c) of K.S.A. 75-3212, and amendments
43       thereto, and mileage allowance specified in subsection (d) of K.S.A. 75-

  1       3212, and amendments thereto, for each day in the performance of leg-
  2       islative duties in their respective offices in Topeka. Reimbursement pro-
  3       vided under this subsection shall not exceed three days in any one week.
  4             (c) No compensation or subsistence or mileage allowances shall be
  5       paid under this section for any day that a member is entitled to receive
  6       compensation under K.S.A. 46-137a or K.S.A. 75-3212, and amendments
  7       thereto.
  8             (d) Each legislator who claims reimbursement under this section shall
  9       submit a voucher therefor on a form specified by the director of legislative
10       administrative services. 
11       Sec.  2. K.S.A. 46-137e is hereby repealed.
12        Sec.  3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
13       publication in the statute book.
