9 AN ACT establishing a task force to study the implementation of state-
10 wide workforce development plans.

12 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
13 Section 1. There is established a task force to study the status of
14 workforce development programs in Kansas, to determine the impact of
15 such programs on education, and to evaluate the effectiveness of such
16 programs by observation of objective results. The task force shall report
17 its findings to the legislature one year from the formation of the task
18 force.
19 Sec. 2. The task force shall consist of 11 members as follows:
20 (a) Two members of the senate education committee, appointed by
21 the chair of the committee;
22 (b) two members of the house education committee, appointed by
23 the chair of the committee;
24 (c) two members of the state board of education, appointed by the
25 chair of the state board;
26 (d) one member, appointed by the Kansas national education
27 association;
28 (e) one member, appointed by the Kansas association of school
29 boards; and
30 (f) three members who are stakeholders representative of business,
31 parental and community interests, one of whom shall be appointed by
32 the chair of the senate education committee, one by the chair of the house
33 education committee, and one by the chair of the state board of
34 education.
35 Sec. 3. The task force shall meet at least four times per year and at
36 other times deemed necessary to perform its functions. Members of the
37 task force attending meetings of the task force, or attending a subcom-
38 mittee meeting thereof authorized by the task force, shall receive amounts
39 provided for in subsection (e) of K.S.A. 75-3223 and amendments thereto.
40 Sec. 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
41 publication in the Kansas register.
