  9             AN  ACT concerning certain electric public utilities; relating to reduction
10             of retail rates for electricity.

12       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
13             Section  1. (a) As used in this section, "electric public utility" means
14       an electric public utility, as defined by K.S.A. 66-101a and amendments
15       thereto, the rates of which are regulated by the state corporation
16       commission.
17             (b) On or before September 1, 1999, every electric public utility shall
18       implement a rate reduction of at least 10% for all customer classes.
19        Sec.  2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
20       publication in the statute book.
