  9             AN  ACT concerning state agencies; relating to the payment of certain
10             fees.

12       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
13             Section  1. (a) As used in this section, "state agency" means any state
14       agency, department, office, board, committee authority or other similar
15       body which licenses, registers, certifies or otherwise regulates members
16       of a profession, trade or practice.
17             (b) Any state agency which imposes a fee for licensure, registration
18       or certification, or renewal thereof, shall accept payment of such fee in
19       the form of a personal, certified or cashier's check, money order or by
20       credit card. A state agency may designate other methods of payment, but
21       shall not refuse payment in the form of a personal check. A state agency
22       may impose additional fees and recover any costs incurred by reason of
23       payments made by personal checks with insufficient funds.
24        Sec.  2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
25       publication in the statute book.
