10             AN ACT providing for funding of the Kansas silver haired legislature;
11             prescribing annual transfers from the state general fund.

13       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
14             Section 1.   (a) On April 1, 2000, and on each April 1 thereafter, the
15       director of accounts and reports shall transfer $30,000 from the state
16       general fund to the Kansas silver haired legislature trust fund.
17             (b)   There is hereby established in the state treasury the Kansas silver
18       haired legislature trust fund. All moneys deposited in such fund shall be
19       used solely for the purpose of financing the Kansas silver haired legisla-
20       ture. Except as otherwise provided in this section, all expenditures from
21       such fund shall be made in accordance with appropriation acts upon war-
22       rants of the director of accounts and reports issued pursuant to vouchers
23       approved by the secretary of aging. Upon the transfer of each amount to
24       the Kansas silver haired legislature trust fund pursuant to subsection (a),
25       the secretary of aging shall pay the amount in the Kansas silver haired
26       trust fund to the Kansas silver haired legislature.  
27             Sec. 2.   This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
28       publication in the statute book.
