  9             AN ACT concerning community colleges; relating to off-campus instruc-
10             tion; amending K.S.A. 71-205 and 71-206 and repealing the existing
11             sections.

13       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
14             Section 1.   K.S.A. 71-205 is hereby amended to read as follows: 71-
15       205. For the purpose of offering and providing off-campus instruction
16       and courses of study at the Fort Leavenworth military reservation, Fort
17       Riley military reservation and McConnell air force base, any community
18       college board of trustees is hereby authorized to enter into agreements
19       with the United States of America or any department or agency thereof.
20       Credit for such study shall be given and accredited in the same manner
21       and to the same extent as other community college credit is given and
22       accredited.
23             Sec. 2.   K.S.A. 71-206 is hereby amended to read as follows: 71-206.
24       Any community college board shall receive, deposit and disburse all funds
25       due or to become due for off-campus instruction at Fort Leavenworth
26       military reservation, Fort Riley military reservation and McConnell air
27       force base in the same manner as other funds belonging to the board,
28       and. All funds so received as provided in this section, or which have been
29       so received, shall be available and expended for such off-campus instruc-
30       tion and other lawful purposes of the board without regard to any restric-
31       tions or limitations contained in the budget law. 
32       Sec. 3.   K.S.A. 71-205 and 71-206 are hereby repealed.
33        Sec. 4.   This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
34       publication in the statute book.
