  9             AN  ACT relating to motor vehicles; concerning the failure to comply with
10             traffic citations issued in another state.

12       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
13             Section  1. (a) When a person fails to comply with a traffic citation
14       issued in another state and upon receipt of a report of such failure by the
15       issuing state, the division shall mail notice to the person that if the person
16       does not pay all fines, court costs and any penalties within 30 days from
17       the date of mailing, the division of vehicles will suspend the person's
18       driving privileges. Upon the person's failure to comply within such 30
19       days, pursuant to K.S.A. 8-255, and amendments thereto, the division of
20       vehicles shall notify the violator and suspend the license of the violator
21       until satisfactory evidence of compliance with the terms of the traffic
22       citation has been furnished the division by the issuing state. Upon such
23       compliance the division of vehicles shall terminate the suspension or sus-
24       pension action.
25             (b) This section shall be part of and supplemental to the uniform act
26       regulating traffic on highways.
27        Sec.  2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
28       publication in the statute book.
