  9             AN  ACT concerning identification numbers and their use.

11       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
12             Section  1. (a) No state agency shall accept for any identification-re-
13       lated purpose any identification number which another state agency al-
14       ready accepts for an identification-related purpose.
15             (b) For the purpose of this section, the term state agency means:
16             (1) The legislature, legislators, legislative committees, councils and
17       legislative agencies;
18             (2) all executive departments, institutions, offices, officers, commis-
19       sions, boards and authorities of the state; and
20             (3) all courts, institutions, offices, officers, commissions, boards and
21       authorities of the judicial branch of the state.
22             Sec.  2. The provisions of section 1 shall apply also to every person,
23       corporation, partnership, limited partnership, association or any other en-
24       tity of any kind which enters into a contract with a state agency.
25        Sec.  3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
26       publication in the statute book.
