                    SENATE BILL No. 690           By Committee on Federal and State Affairs           3-23             9             AN ACT concerning crimes and punishments; creating the crime of un-
10             lawful administration of a substance.

12       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
13           Section 1. (a) Unlawful administration of a substance is the inten-
14       tional and knowing administration of a substance, for a purpose other
15       than lawful medical or therapeutic treatment, to cause any alteration of
16       the physical or mental condition of another person by introducing, with-
17       out the consent of such other person, a substance or causing a substance
18       to be introduced into any food or beverage intended for consumption by
19       such other person.
20           (b) Unlawful administration of a substance is a class A person mis-
21       demeanor.
22           Sec. 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
23       publication in the statute book.
