                    SENATE BILL No. 614           By Committee on Judiciary           2-10             9             AN ACT making and concerning appropriations for the fiscal year ending
10             June 30, 1999, for the department of health and environment; au-
11             thorizing certain transfers and imposing certain restrictions and limi-
12             tations, and directing or authorizing certain receipts and disburse-
13             ments and acts incidental to the foregoing.

15       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
16           Section 1. (a) For the fiscal year ending June 30, 1999, appropria-
17       tions are hereby made, restrictions and limitations are hereby imposed,
18       and transfers, receipts, disbursements and acts incidental to the foregoing
19       are hereby directed or authorized as provided in this act.
20           Sec. 2.
21       DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT 22           (a) There is appropriated for the above agency from the state general
23       fund the following:

Aid to local units

$1,300,000

25       Provided, That expenditures shall be made from the aid to local units account for expansion
26       of the healthy start program to provide service to all counties in Kansas: Provided further,
27       That expenditures from this account for the healthy start program shall not exceed
28       $2,100,000.

29	Healthy families program
30	$4,000,000

31       Provided, That all expenditures from the healthy families program account shall be to pro-
32       vide enhanced services to at-risk families in Kansas.
33           Sec. 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July
34       1, 1998, and its publication in the statute book.
