SENATE BILL No. 469
An Act concerning sheriffs; relating to uniforms; amending K.S.A. 19-824 and repealing
the existing section.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:

    Section 1. K.S.A. 19-824 is hereby amended to read as follows: 19-
824. The uniform required herein shall be readily distinguishable from
the uniform of other law enforcement agencies in the state of Kansas.
The attorney general sheriff of each county shall designate the color and
design of such uniforms on or before January 1, 1970. Subsequent to such
designation, all uniforms newly purchased or furnished by counties to
sheriffs and their deputies shall conform with the attorney general's des-
ignation and no uniform that does not conform with such designation
shall be worn after January 11, 1971 the uniform to be worn by the sheriff
and deputies in such sheriff's department.

    Sec. 2. K.S.A. 19-824 is hereby repealed.

    Sec. 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
publication in the statute book.
