AN ACT concerning fees for fishing licenses;
relating to certain exemp-
10 tions; amending K.S.A.
1997 Supp. 32-988 and repealing the existing
11 section.

13 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the
State of Kansas:
14 Section 1. K.S.A.
1997 Supp. 32-988 is hereby amended to read as
15 follows: 32-988. (a) The secretary is
authorized to adopt, in accordance
16 with K.S.A. 32-805 and amendments thereto,
rules and regulations fixing
17 the amount of fees for the following items,
subject to the following lim-
18 itations and subject to the requirement
that no such rules and regulations
19 shall be adopted as temporary rules and
regulations:
20 Big game permits
21 Resident: minimum $10,
maximum $100
22 Nonresident: minimum $30,
maximum $400
23 Big game tag: maximum $10
24 Nonresident applications:
maximum $5
25 Transfer fee: minimum $10,
maximum $40
26 Combination hunting and fishing
licenses

1 (b) The fee for a
landowner-tenant resident big game hunting permit
2 shall be an amount equal to 1/2 the
fee for a general resident big game
3 hunting permit.
4 (c) The fee for a
furharvester license for a resident under 16 years of
5 age shall be an amount equal to 1/2
the fee for a resident furharvester
6 license.
7 (d) The secretary
may establish, by rules and regulations adopted in
8 accordance with K.S.A. 32-805 and
amendments thereto, different fees
9 for various classes and types of
licenses, permits, stamps and other issu-
10 ances of the department which may occur
within each item as described
11 under subsection (a).
12 (e) The fee for a
nonprofit group fishing license issued under sub-
13 section (h) of K.S.A. 32-906 and amendments
thereto shall be $50 for
14 calendar year 1995.
15 (f) The fee for a
nonresident mussel fishing license shall be $1,000
16 from the effective date of this act through
calendar year 1995.
17 (g) The fee for a
fishing license shall be waived for any applicant who
18 presents evidence, specified by rules
and regulations of the secretary, that
19 such applicant is physically disabled
according to social security disability
20 standards.
21 Sec. 2. K.S.A. 1997
Supp. 32-988 is hereby repealed.
22 Sec. 3. This act
shall take effect and be in force from and after its
23 publication in the statute book.
