                    HOUSE BILL No. 2746           By Committee on Education           1-29             9             AN ACT concerning school districts; authorizing certain payments to cer-
10             tificated personnel to be made from inservice education funds; amend-
11             ing K.S.A. 72-9609 and repealing the existing section.

13       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
14           Section 1. K.S.A. 72-9609 is hereby amended to read as follows:
15       72-9609. There is hereby established in every school district a fund which
16       shall be called the inservice education fund, which fund shall consist of
17       all moneys deposited therein or transferred thereto according to law. All
18       moneys received by the school district from whatever source for inservice
19       education programs established under this act shall be credited to the
20       fund established by this section. The expenses of a school district directly
21       attributable to inservice education programs shall be paid from the in-
22       service education fund. Direct payment to certificated personnel for at-
23       tending staff development programs or activities conducted during non-
24       contractual time of such personnel shall be an allowable expense to be
25       paid from the inservice education fund.
26           Sec. 2. K.S.A. 72-9609 is hereby repealed.
27           Sec. 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
28       publication in the statute book.
