                    HOUSE BILL No. 2688           By Committee on Transportation           1-22             9             AN ACT requiring the installation of rumble strips at certain
10             intersections.

12       Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
13           Section 1. On and after the effective date of this act, the secretary
14       of transportation with respect to highways under the secretary's jurisdic-
15       tion and the board of county commissioners of each county with respect
16       to paved highways under their jurisdiction shall install rumble strips at
17       intersections, as defined in K.S.A. 8-1428, and amendments thereto,
18       where at least two separate fatality vehicle accidents have occurred within
19       a calendar year. Such rumble strips shall be placed to provide sufficient
20       warning of the approaching intersection.
21           Sec. 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
22       publication in the statute book.
