 9  AN ACT concerning sheriffs; relating to uniforms; amending K.S.A. 19-
10    824 and repealing the existing section.

12  Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
13    Section 1.  K.S.A. 19-824 is hereby amended to read as follows: 19-
14  824. The uniform required herein shall be readily distinguishable from
15  the uniform of other law enforcement agencies in the state of Kansas.
16  The attorney general shall designate the color and design of such uniforms
17  on or before January 1, 1970. Subsequent to such designation, all uni-
18  forms newly purchased or furnished by counties to sheriffs and their dep-
19  uties shall conform with the attorney general's designation and no uniform
20  that does not conform with such designation shall be worn after January
21  11, 1971. Each sheriff shall designate the color and design of the uniform
22  to be worn by such sheriff's department.
23    Sec. 2.  K.S.A. 19-824 is hereby repealed.
24    Sec. 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
25  publication in the statute book.
