 8  AN ACT concerning civil procedure for limited actions; relating to ap-
 9    plication of code of civil procedure; renumbering of case; amending
10    K.S.A. 61-1729 and repealing the existing section.

12  Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
13    Section 1.  K.S.A. 61-1729 is hereby amended to read as follows: 61-
14  1729. An action filed under chapter 61 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated,
15  except an action filed pursuant to the small claims procedure act, may
16  upon motion of a party and order of the court for good cause shown, be
17  thereafter governed by the provisions of chapter 60 of the Kansas Statutes
18  Annotated. The party obtaining an order under this section shall pay any
19  additional docket fee required had the action been filed under chapter
20  60 of the Kansas Statutes Annotated. Upon such order of the court and
21  payment of any additional docket under this section, the clerk of the dis-
22  trict court shall renumber the case as a case filed under chapter 60 of the
23  Kansas Statutes Annotated in the same manner as required by K.S.A. 60-
24  2418 and amendments thereto.
25    Sec. 2.  K.S.A. 61-1729 is hereby repealed.
26    Sec. 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
27  publication in the statute book.
