 9  AN ACT concerning the Kansas racing and gaming commission; relating
10    to appointment of assistant attorneys general; amending K.S.A. 74-
11    8809 and repealing the existing section.

13  Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
14    Section 1.  K.S.A. 74-8809 is hereby amended to read as follows: 74-
15  8809. The attorney general shall appoint, with the approval of the com-
16  mission, not more fewer than two assistant attorneys general who shall
17  be assigned to assist the commission in all matters, including the enforce-
18  ment of this act. Such attorneys shall be in the unclassified service under
19  the Kansas civil service act and shall receive  annual salaries fixed by the
20  attorney general, with the approval of the commission, subject to the
21  limitations of appropriations therefor. Such salaries shall be paid from the
22  state racing fund created by K.S.A. 74-8826, and amendments thereto, as
23  an operating expense of the commission.
24    Sec. 2.  K.S.A. 74-8809 is hereby repealed.
25    Sec. 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
26  publication in the statute book.
