9 AN ACT concerning district magistrate judges; establishing two positions 10 in the third judicial district; amending K.S.A. 1996 Supp. 20-338 and 11 repealing the existing section. 12 13 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas: 14 Section 1. K.S.A. 1996 Supp. 20-338 is hereby amended to read as 15 follows: 20-338. (a) District magistrate judge positions shall be constituted 16 as provided in subsection (b). 17 (b) (1) In the first judicial district, there shall be one district magis- 18 trate judge position in Atchison county, subject to the provisions of K.S.A. 19 20-354a and amendments thereto. 20 (2) In the second judicial district, there shall be three district mag- 21 istrate judge positions in the district, with position one in Jefferson county, 22 position two in Pottawatomie county and position three in Wabaunsee 23 county. 24 (3) In the third judicial district, there shall be two district magistrate 25 judge positions in Shawnee county. 26 (4) In the fourth judicial district, there shall be two district magistrate 27 judge positions in the district, with position one in Osage county and 28 position two in Coffey, Anderson or Franklin county as determined by 29 the supreme court. 30 (4) (5) In the fifth judicial district, there shall be one district magis- 31 trate judge position in Chase county. 32 (5) (6) In the sixth judicial district, there shall be a district magistrate 33 judge position in Bourbon county. 34 (6) (7) In the eighth judicial district, there shall be two district mag- 35 istrate judge positions in the district, with position one in Dickinson 36 county and position two in Morris county. 37 (7) (8) In the 11th judicial district, there shall be one district magis- 38 trate judge position in Cherokee county. 39 (8) (9) In the 12th judicial district, there shall be six district magistrate 40 judge positions in the district, with position one in Cloud county, position 41 two in Jewell county, position three in Lincoln county, position four in 42 Mitchell county, position five in Republic county and position six in Wash- 43 ington county.  1    (9) (10)  In the 13th judicial district, there shall be two district mag-
 2  istrate judge positions in the district, with position one in Elk county and
 3  position two in Greenwood county.
 4    (10) (11)  In the 14th judicial district, there shall be one district mag-
 5  istrate judge position in Chautauqua county.
 6    (11) (12)  In the 15th judicial district, there shall be six district mag-
 7  istrate judge positions in the district, with position one in Cheyenne
 8  county, position two in Logan county, position three in Sheridan county,
 9  position four in Wallace county, position five in Thomas county and po-
10  sition six in Rawlins county.
11    (12) (13)  In the 16th judicial district, there shall be five district mag-
12  istrate judge positions in the district, with position one in Clark county,
13  position two in Comanche county, position three in Gray county, position
14  four in Kiowa county and position five in Meade county.
15    (13) (14)  In the 17th judicial district, there shall be six district mag-
16  istrate judge positions in the district, with position one in Graham county,
17  position two in Decatur county, position three in Norton county, position
18  four in Osborne county, position five in Phillips county and position six
19  in Smith county.
20    (14) (15)  In the 20th judicial district, there shall be four district mag-
21  istrate judge positions in the district, with position one in Ellsworth
22  county, position two in Rice county, position three in Russell county and
23  position four in Stafford county.
24    (15) (16)  In the 21st judicial district, there shall be one district mag-
25  istrate judge position in Clay county.
26    (16) (17)  In the 22nd judicial district, there shall be three district
27  magistrate judge positions in the district, with position one in Doniphan
28  county, position two in Marshall county and position three in Nemaha
29  county.
30    (17) (18)  In the 23rd judicial district, there shall be three district
31  magistrate judge positions in the district, with position one in Gove
32  county, position two in Rooks county and position three in Trego county.
33    (18) (19)  In the 24th judicial district, there shall be six district mag-
34  istrate judge positions in the district, with position one in Edwards county,
35  position two in Hodgeman county, position three in Lane county, position
36  four in Ness county, position five in Pawnee county and position six in
37  Rush county.
38    (19) (20)  In the 25th judicial district, there shall be five district mag-
39  istrate judge positions in the district, with position one in Greeley county,
40  position two in Hamilton county, position three in Kearny county, position
41  four in Scott county and position five in Wichita county.
42    (20) (21)  In the 26th judicial district, there shall be five district mag-
43  istrate judge positions in the district, with position one in Grant county,

 1  position two in Haskell county, position three in Morton county, position
 2  four in Stanton county and position five in Stevens county.
 3    (21) (22)  In the 28th judicial district, there shall be one district mag-
 4  istrate judge position in Ottawa county.
 5    (22) (23)  In the 30th judicial district, there shall be four district mag-
 6  istrate judge positions, with position one in Barber county, position two
 7  in Harper county, position three in Kingman county and position four in
 8  Pratt county.
 9    (23) (24)  In the 31st judicial district, there shall be two district mag-
10  istrate judge positions in the district, with position one in Allen county
11  and position two in Woodson county.
12    Sec. 2.  K.S.A. 1996 Supp. 20-338 is hereby repealed.
13    Sec. 3.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
14  publication in the statute book.
