 9  AN ACT concerning state officers and employees.

11  Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
12    Section 1.  (a) No civil officer or employee of the United States or of
13  any department, agency or instrumentality thereof, shall be eligible to be
14  an officer, employee or appointee of the state of Kansas or of any de-
15  partment, agency of instrumentality thereof.
16    (b)  No officer, employee or appointee of the state of Kansas or of any
17  department, agency or instrumentality thereof, shall be eligible to be a
18  civil officer or employee of the United States or of any department,
19  agency or instrumentality thereof.
20    (c)  Any person in violation of this section shall be discharged from
21  state employment.
22    (d)  Nothing in this section shall prohibit a person from resigning from
23  employment with a civil office, department, agency or instrumentality of
24  the United States to accept an office, an appointment or employment
25  with the state of Kansas or from resigning from an office, an appointment
26  or employment with the state of Kansas to accept employment with a
27  civil office, department, agency or instrumentality of the United States.
28    Sec. 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
29  publication in the statute book.
