AN ACT concerning the district court; relating to the clerk of the district
court; amending K.S.A. 20-3133 and repealing the existing section.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
Section 1. K.S.A. 20-3133 is hereby amended to read as follows: 20-
3133. (a) It shall be unlawful for clerks of the district court or any of their
deputies to write any petition or answer or other pleadings in any pro-
ceedings, or perform any service as an attorney or counselor at law in any
case or cases pending in the court in which they are either clerk or deputy,
or be interested in any profits or emoluments arising out of any practice
in the courts of which they are either clerk or deputy, except costs.
(b) The clerk or deputy may assist the public in locating legal forms.
Such assistance shall not constitute the practice of law.
Sec. 2. K.S.A. 20-3133 is hereby repealed.
Sec. 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
publication in the statute book.
